Catholic parish church of the Holy Family in Riedersbach

The Roman Catholic parish church of Riedersbach is located in the village of Riedersbach in the municipality of St. Pantaleon in the Braunau am Inn district in Upper Austria . The church, consecrated to the Holy Family , belongs to the Deanery Ostermiething in the Diocese of Linz . The church is a listed building .

history

In 1948 the mining of lignite began in Trimmelkam . Due to the influx of miners, a church was built in Riedersbach from 1953 to 1955 according to the plans of the architect Karl von Tobisch-Labotýn . Mining ceased in 1994, the former shift clock was transferred to the church tower, and the names of miners who died in an accident are mentioned in the church.

On the side wall surfaces in the nave to the retracted choir with a straight end are frescos by the painter Hans Plank , on the left with the depiction of the Madonna in the protective cloak , on the right with St. Barbara of Nicomedia , the patron saint of miners.
