Parish Church Sankt Josef (West Styria)
The Roman Catholic parish church of Sankt Josef is located in the municipality of Sankt Josef in the Deutschlandsberg district in Styria . The parish church consecrated to Saint Joseph of Nazareth belonged to the then dissolved deanery Deutschlandsberg in the diocese of Graz-Seckau until the end of August 2018 ; since this deanery was closed, it has been in the pastoral care area of Southwest Styria. The church is a listed building .
history
The church was built from 1850 to 1858 with the architect Josef Eberhard in Romanized forms. The west portal shows the year 1861.
architecture
The interior of the church has a flat domed vault. The set tower wears a pointed helmet.
Furnishing
The facility was created during the construction period. The high altar picture of the Holy Family was painted by Josef Tunner in 1858. The figures of the four evangelists as reliefs on the pulpit as well as the figures on the sound cover with faith, hope and love and the figure of St. Pankratius on the right side altar was created by the sculptor Jakob Gschiel . The statue of the Immaculate Conception on the left side altar was created in 1858 by the sculptor Michael Rosenberger. There is a baroque statue of St. Barbara around 1700. The Stations of the Cross are in a baroque tradition.
