The Roman Catholic parish church of Sankt Magdalena am Lemberg is located in the parish of Lemberg in the former municipality of Sankt Magdalena am Lemberg in the municipality of Buch-St. Magdalena in Styria . The parish church of St. Magdalena belongs to the Hartberg deanery in the Graz-Seckau diocese . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

The church was built in 1787/1788 on the site of a Kottulinsky hunting chapel by the builder Leopold Ainspinner.

architecture

The church stands on the Lemberg on the watershed between Lafnitz and Safen . The church with a circumferential pilaster structure has a single tower facade in the west with a slightly protruding middle section. The nave with a flat ceiling on a flat pilaster structure with belts is followed by a two-bay retracted choir with a five-eighth end . The three-axis music gallery stands on pillars.

Furnishing

The high altar

The classicistic high altar shows the altarpiece of St. Magdalena by the painter Anton Jantl (1797). The simple pulpit is from the end of the 18th century. The two side altars are from the 1st quarter of the 18th century. The picture of the Patritius altar shows the year 1719. The picture of the Coronation of Mary was painted by Johann Cyriak Hackhofer . A. Koch painted the late baroque Stations of the Cross from the 4th quarter of the 18th century.

The organ was built by Franz Xaver Schwarz (1789).
