Sattendorf - Parish Church of St Bartholomew1.jpg

The Roman Catholic parish church of Sattendorf in the municipality of Treffen is consecrated to St. Bartholomew .

In the 18th century, monks from the Ossiach Abbey in Sattendorf held the service. In 1782 the church of Sattendorf is mentioned for the first time as a branch of the parish St. Ruprecht . As a pastoral care office, the parish was alternately looked after by St. Ruprecht and St. Josef in Bodensdorf. Only in the 20th century was St. Bartholomew raised to an independent parish.

The small church has a vestibule tower in the west with arched sound openings and a pyramid helmet, in the south a sacristy extension . A round-arched triumphal arch connects the two-bay , flat-roofed nave with the choir with a ridged cross vault and five-eighth end . During the restoration, the stencil painting from 1784, which is remarkable for folklore, was uncovered and partially reconstructed.

The high altar is made up of baroque elements from the end of the 18th century and consists of a tabernacle on an altar hall with angels on the side. To the side of the high altar are two saints from the end of the 18th century on consoles. The church also has a wall altar with a canopy.
