The Roman Catholic parish church of Sautens is located in Sautens in the municipality of Sautens in the Imst district in Tyrol . The parish church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary belongs to the deanery Silz in the diocese of Innsbruck . The church is a listed building .

history

A church was mentioned in a document in 1517. The old parish church of Sautens was profaned in the 19th century. The new parish church was built between 1828 and 1830 with Simon Moosbrugger.

architecture

The late classicist uniform west-facing church building stands on the higher western edge of the village and is surrounded by a cemetery.

Furnishing

The altars from 1834/1835 bear statues by the sculptor Franz Xaver Renn and show altar paintings by the painter Josef Erler .

Bells

The peal of the parish church of Sautens consists of four bells, all of which were cast in the Grassmayr bell foundry in Innsbruck.

All bells were cast in 1951.

Before the Second World War , there was an even larger bell that sounded in the tone c sharp 1 . However, it was not re-cast after the Second World War, partly for financial reasons.
