The Karner under the Michaelskapelle was Discovered during renovations in 1890. From 1889 to 1892, under Johann II. Prince Liechtenstein with the master builder Peter Handler according to plans by Gustav von Neumann, a comprehensive redesign took place, a tower was rebuilt, the entire church building was raised, the level of the floor in the choir was lowered, the interior and the church - The exterior was partly bricked up and partly exposed, the windows and the portal were enlarged, buttresses were partly removed and partly supplemented and changed or reconstructed, the roofs were re-covered with glazed roof tiles from the Princely Liechtenstein clay and brick ware factory Unter-Themaau .

architecture

The Gothic staggered church has a featured neo-Gothic west tower and a roof turret on the ridge.

Since the renovation in 1889/1892, the church has been looking stone. A choir with a five-eighth end adjoins the broadly proportioned nave . To the north of the choir stands the Michael Chapel, which is slightly off-axis and has a five-eighth closure with its own gable wall and roof. The south aisle has a polygonal end. The nave and choir as well as the Michael's chapel have buttresses, some of which are stepped, and one and two-lane tracery windows. The three-zone west tower from 1889/1892 has a wedge roof, the tower bears a crucifix from the end of the 19th century with relief shields from the market Schottwien and Prince Liechtenstein over a pointed arch opening. In the southern corner of the choir there is a two-storey sacristy extension under two transverse half-hipped roofs.

The stained glass was created by the Geyling company, partly with donor inscriptions or coats of arms.

Furnishing

The largely neo-Gothic interior with some richly carved work was created in 1889/1892.

The organ was built by Johann M. Kauffmann in 1882.
