The Roman Catholic parish church Siegendorf stands high above the village in the municipality of Siegendorf in the Eisenstadt-Umgebung district in Burgenland . The parish church , consecrated on the feast of All Saints' Day , belongs to the dean's office in Rust in the Eisenstadt diocese . The church is a listed building .

history

A church was mentioned in documents in 1366. A new building took place in 1659 and was consecrated in 1673. There was a fire in 1835. In 1970 the interior of the church was restored.

architecture

The uniform baroque building from the 17th century has a front-built west tower, a long nave and a retracted choir with a three-eighth closure. The tower portal shows the relief of the cherub's head in the lintel and above it in a niche the stone bell Madonna as Eisenstadt's miraculous image. The eight-sided stone pyramid spire of the tower has a surrounding balcony below with a dock balustrade on consoles. The church building has buttresses double stepped on the nave and the lower choir.

Furnishing

The high altar with sacrificial portals from the first quarter of the 18th century has a blasted segmented gable with angels and a top with columns above entablature on two columns. The All Saints' Day altarpiece shows the Esterházy alliance coat of arms above it . The side figures show the saints King Stephen and Ladislaus. On the tabernacle there are niche figures of the four church fathers with side busts of the apostles.
