Parish Church of St. Jakob am Thurn
The parish church of St. Jakob am Thurn is located in the hamlet of Sankt Jakob am Thurn in the municipality of Puch near Hallein in the Hallein district in the state of Salzburg . history
A church was documented in 1238. 1324 was a church consecration. In 1725 the tower was rebuilt. In 1753 the Loreto Chapel was built with the master builder Kassian Singer with the client Josef Anton Graf Platz and consecrated in 1754. In 1786 the church was rebuilt due to disrepair. In 1891 the church was elevated to a parish church. In 1960/1963 the church was rebuilt with the architect Otto Prossinger . 1985 was a restoration.
architecture
The essentially baroque church building is a church with a west tower with a Loreto chapel to the east connected to the nave.
The elongated church building with a narrow, essentially Romanesque nave under a gable roof has a wide main room under a hipped roof. The tower with arched sound windows has a baroque curved helmet. In the north there is a sacristy under a pent roof.
The Loreto Chapel in the east is windowless with a re-entrant round apse and has portals in the north and south with a baroque frame with doors with ornamental baroque fittings. The chapel under a gable roof bears a bell-shaped roof turret with a north and south round window, with a lantern and a final onion.
