The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Pankraz is located in the municipality of St. Pankraz in the Kirchdorf an der Krems district in Upper Austria . It is consecrated to St. Pankratius and belongs to the Windischgarsten Dean's Office in the Diocese of Linz . The building is a listed building .

history

The church is first mentioned in a document in 1277. The current church building dates back to 1462. It was restored in 1709, among other things.

The west tower from 1873 has a pointed helmet.

Church interior

The church is a late Gothic hall building . It is single-aisled and has six bays. Above it is a ribbed vault . Towards the altar, the church ends at the 3/8 end. On both sides of the nave there are chapel extensions that are also vaulted with net ribs.

Furnishing

The interior of the church is baroque . The high altar was based on a design by Franz Josef Holzinger . The statues were probably created by the sculptor Franz Xaver Leithner from Lambach . The altarpiece is attributed to Martino Altomonte or an artist close to him. The two side altars from 1756 or 1757 were created by Franz Xaver Leithner. The two altarpieces were painted by Bartolomeo Altomonte in 1763 and restored in 1957. The pulpit is also by Franz Xaver Leithner from 1754 and 1755. The Stations of the Cross are based on the style of Wolfgang Andreas Heindl . Franz Xaver Leithner created the frames.
