The parish church of St. Peter am Hart is in the village of St. Peter am Hart in the municipality of St. Peter am Hart in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Petrus belongs to the deanery of Braunau in the diocese of Linz . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection .

history

A church was mentioned in documents in 1400. The gothic tuff building has been redesigned in Baroque style.

architecture

The single-nave four-bay nave with half-retracted buttresses and the slightly retracted two-bay choir with a five-eighth end have Gothic vaults with chipped ribs with stucco by Johann Michael Vierthaler (1733). The frescoes with scenes from the life of Saints Peter and Paul were painted by the painter Johann Georg Reischl. The four-storey Gothic west tower with an eight-sided pointed spire has trimmed gables. The southern porch with a Gothic vault with chipped ribs and the adjoining chapel are stuccoed. The stucco portal is from 1715. The sacristy with a Gothic cross vault has stucco by Johann Michael Vierthaler (1733). The sacristy door is Gothic.

The Gothic cemetery wall made of tuff has a wedge cover.

Furnishing

The high altar bears sculptures from the fourth quarter of the 17th century. The tabernacle is new. The Gothic font is in the choir.
