The parish church of St. Wendelin is the Roman Catholic parish church of Aristau in the canton of Aargau . It was built in 1942 and is dedicated to Saint Wendelin .

The predecessor of the parish church was the Wendelinskapelle in the neighboring village of Althäuser, which belongs to the municipality of Aristau. It was built after the village fire in 1760. Wilhelm Joseph Leopold, Auxiliary Bishop of Konstanz , raised it to a mess chapel in 1797 against the opposition of the Muri monastery . In 1942 the chapel had to give way to the expansion of the main road.

Also in 1942, the parish church was built according to plans by the architect Josef Oswald, which took over the patronage of the chapel. On the one hand, the community members contributed to the financing, on the other hand the capital from the abolition of the monastery in 1841. With a decree, the Grand Council of the Canton Aargau enabled the separation from the parish of Muri , to which Aristau had belonged for centuries. The inauguration took place on July 11, 1943. The first major renovation took place in 1993, and in 2010 an Antonius chapel was set up in the rear of the church.
