The Roman Catholic parish church of Wörth an der Lafnitz is in the village of Wörth an der Lafnitz in the municipality of Rohr bei Hartberg in Styria . The parish church of St. Georg belongs to the Hartberg deanery in the Graz-Seckau diocese . The church is a listed building .

history

The church was founded in 1313 by Gottschalk von Neuberg. The church was burned down by the Hungarians in 1418 and devastated in 1605. Today's church building as a new Josephine building shows the year 1779 on the tower.

architecture

The church shows strong buttresses on the nave and choir, which were built because of the loose alluvial soil. A retracted square choir adjoins the three-bay hall with a flat ceiling and pilaster structure. The music gallery is triaxial. The square tower was presented to the west. The interior of the church shows simple stucco ornaments over the windows.

The altar

The three altars are from the end of the 19th century. The pulpit has been preserved from the construction period.
