The Roman Catholic parish church of Waldburg is located in the municipality of Waldburg in the Freistadt district in Upper Austria . The St. Maria Magdalena consecrated parish church belongs to the deanery Freistadt in the Diocese of Linz . The church is a listed building .

history

The parish church Waldburg was built at the beginning of the 13th century and mentioned in a document in 1220 and rebuilt at the end of the 14th century.

architecture

The church is a single-nave, four-bay church with a two-bay choir. The late Gothic building has a ribbed vault and a tower on the west side.

Furnishing

Inside the church there are three remarkable late Gothic winged altars from 1517 from the workshop of Lienhard Krapfenbacher in the style of the Danube School . The works are artistically valuable because they are a fine example of the best folk culture.
