history

The parish church, also market church Waldhausen, was built under provost Hermann Partenreuther by the Linz builder Hiob Eder between 1608 and 1612 in the Gothic style. The two spiral staircase towers give the church its defensive appearance. On the south facade is a remarkable Renaissance portal. It is a three-aisled church interior with large Gothic windows. The ceiling, equipped with granite ribs, is supported by octagonal pillars.

Gothic frescoes from the construction period are still preserved inside, otherwise the furnishings are in the Renaissance style. The granite sacrament house and the pine wood pulpit from 1612 with artistic inlays are also noteworthy. In 1956 the church was renovated and received the high-quality baroque furnishings. The high altar from the area around Thomas Schwanthaler from 1679 comes from the Sebastianskirche Aurolzmünster. In 1962 the Holy Spirit window was installed by Rudolf Kolbitsch . 1966 the organ from Orgelbau Hradetzky from Krems. In 1970 the new people's altar and ambo were installed by Jakob Kopp .
