Warth am Arlberg parish church
The Roman Catholic parish church Warth am Arlberg is in the municipality of Warth in the Bregenz district in Vorarlberg . The parish church of St. Sebastian belongs to the dean's office in Hinterwald in the diocese of Feldkirch . The church is a listed building .
history
The church was initially a branch of Lech. The church, built in 1590/1592, was named in 1602 on St. Anna and Sebastian and became a chaplain church in 1602/1603. In 1625 the church was elevated to a parish church. From 1749 to 1752 the church was extended and refurbished. 1791 was a renovation with stucco by Johann Jakob Rief. In 1893/1895 a new building was carried out with the builder Fidel Körner. On September 1, 2012, the parish church changed from the dean's office Bludenz-Sonnenberg to the dean's office in Hinterwald.
architecture
The church is surrounded to the east by a walled cemetery. The neo-Romanesque nave and the choir with a three-eighth closure are under a common gable roof. The north tower at the choir wears a pointed helmet. The sign has a pent roof.
Furnishing
The high altar from 1895 with a neo-Gothic structure was created by Josef Andergassen according to a plan by Josef Schmid with the sculptor Franz Egg and the gilder Eduard Sailer.
The organ was built by Rieger Orgelbau (1976) in a housing by Knünz.
