Felix Bräuer

Felix Bräuer (born December 25, 1988 in Görlitz ) is a German- Sorbian church musician , organist and composer .

Life

Born in Görlitz and raised in Bautzen , Felix Bräuer received his first piano lessons at the age of seven. This was followed by basic musical training in music theory and piano as a major at the Bautzen District School of Music. At the same time he received organ lessons. Felix Bräuer studied Catholic church music, organ and harpsichord at the Dresden University of Church Music. His teachers included Christfried Brödel (choir director), Sabine Bräutigam (piano) and Raphael Alpermann (harpsichord) as well as Merit Eichhorn, Kreuz organist Holger Gehring and cathedral organist of the Dresden Cathedral Thomas Lennartz (artistic organ playing, liturgical organ playing and organ improvisation). In 2011 Felix Bräuer completed an internship in church music at the High Cathedral in Paderborn. Felix Bräuer received courses and in-depth instruction in the organ major from Gereon Krahforst , Frédéric Champion and Wolfgang Zerer, among others .

Until now Felix Bräuer worked as organist in the catholic cathedral parish “St. Petri ”in Bautzen and as interim organist at the cathedral“ Ss. Trinitatis ”(formerly Catholic court church) in Dresden. He is currently organist at the Cistercian Abbey of St. Marienstern in Panschwitz-Kuckau.

CD recordings and organ concerts took place in, among others, an der Luth. Parish Church “St. Marien “in Marburg ad Lahn, at the St. Hedwig's Cathedral in Berlin, at the simultaneous cathedral in Wetzlar.

In addition to his work as a choir director on smaller projects, Felix Bräuer is also primarily active as a composer of sacred music. In 2012 he won the “2. Sorbian Composition Competition “of the Federation of Sorbian Singing Associations e. V. the 1st and 2nd prize with the Sorbian choir motets "Wuznaće" (confession) and "Strowa sy, Marija" (Ave Maria).
