Parish Church of Our Lady in Wippenham.

The parish church of Wippenham is in the village of Wippenham in the municipality of Wippenham in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church of Mariä Namen belongs to the deanery Ried im Innkreis in the diocese of Linz . The church is a listed building .

history

A church was mentioned in documents in 1147.

architecture

The late Gothic church has a spacious, two-bay nave and a single-bay choir with a five-eighth end, both under a ribbed vault. The three-axis west gallery is arched under star ribs. The two-bay, south aisle has a flat hanging dome vault. The mighty west tower with an eight-sided bell house has a pyramid roof. The Gothic south portal has a door with rich Gothic fittings. The sacristy portal is Gothic.

The high altar from 1659 was created under the influence of the Zürn family of sculptors and was restored in 1931. The Gothic statue of the Mother of God was created around 1500. The side altar in the south aisle from the 3rd quarter of the 17th century bears the central figure of Margarethe in the manner of Johann Franz Schwanthaler from the 1st quarter of the 18th century. The pulpit is from the end of the 17th century. There are several baroque statues from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The sacristy with a wooden ceiling has a cabinet with fittings and paneling around 1600.

There is a medieval bell.
