Parish church Wulkaprodersdorf
The Roman Catholic parish church of Wulkaprodersdorf stands in the middle of a fortification at the western end of the village in the market town of Wulkaprodersdorf in the Eisenstadt-Umgebung district in Burgenland . The parish church , consecrated on the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross , belongs to the dean's office in Rust in the Eisenstadt diocese . The church is a listed building .
history
The church of a medieval parish was mentioned in documents in 1337. A new church was consecrated in 1642 and devastated in the Turkish War in 1683 and renovated in 1713. The tower was built in 1801 and renovated in 1866 after a fire. The church was restored inside in 1960 and outside in 1973. 1978/1979 was an interior restoration with numerous changes.
architecture
The early baroque church has a tower integrated into the northern half of the western gable facade, and the inscription Renovata 1924 is on the tower on the upper floor . The tower has a pointed stone helmet with vases and finials. On the right part of the facade is a vestibule on fluted columns with the inscription 1630 . There are two-storey sacristy additions on both sides of the nave. The choir with a three-eighth closure has simply stepped buttresses with volutes. The building inscription 1630 is on the northern portal porch . There are two priest gravestones on the outer wall of the apse with 1799 and 1833.
Furnishing
The high altar from the middle of the 18th century with a free-standing tabernacle shows the crucifixion group with Mary and John on the apse front wall and God the Father in the stitch cap.
Johann Georg Koechel, Ödenburg 1778, names a bell.
