Parish Church of Zlan
The Evangelical AB Parish Church of Zlan is on the northern edge of Zlan in the municipality of Stockenboi .
The nave was built in the post-Rococo style from 1805 to 1807 , and the tower was added in 1950. Since Zlan did not belong to Austria at the time of construction, but to the Illyrian provinces of Napoleon , the church was not affected by the structural restrictions of the Josephine tolerance patent . The church has a curved corrugated gable on the south side and a portal framed with a delicate relief. The nave and the choir have arched windows and are divided by pilasters . The western tower with a hall on the ground floor and arched sound windows is crowned by a pointed helmet. The swinging, retracted choir has a round window at the end. A low sacristy is built behind the end of the choir .
Inside, the barrel vault is divided into four bays by belt arches that rest on pilasters. The organ gallery with a swinging balustrade stands on six delicate supports. The organ was created by Jakob Ladstätter in 1862/1864. The chancel and the sermon room are separated by a communion grille, over which bread was passed during the Lord's Supper. The sanctuary ends in an apse .
In this apse is the altar with its dissolved column architecture and sacrificial passages . The center of the altar is a crucifix, flanked by two female figures, who symbolize the Christian virtues of faith and hope. The statues of the four evangelists crown the altar. The pulpit and the prayer chairs date from the time it was built, the latter being made in the Bleiberger wood carving school.
