The Pfeifer Group , headquartered in Upper Swabia Memmingen is the parent company of the affiliated companies of the Pfeifer Group. The group of companies is active in the fields of rope technology, rope construction, structural engineering, lifting technology and attachment / lashing technology and is one of the world market leaders in its field.
history
The oldest evidence of the Pfeifer family's rope making in Memmingen dates from 1579. Until 1950 the company was a craft business with only a few employees. It was Hermann Pfeifer, the father of today's managing director Gerhard Pfeifer, who developed the company from a craft business to an industrial company with personal commitment and foresight. With Gerhard Pfeifer, the company is now in the twelfth generation of the family. Since the 1990s the company has developed into today's internationally active group of companies. In 1994 the leading manufacturer of elevator wire ropes Gustav Kocks in Mülheim an der Ruhr was taken over. The footprint of the plant in Memmingen was enlarged by over 40 percent in 2008.
Products
In rope technology, the product range includes crane and elevator ropes, ropes for mining and industry as well as protective barriers. In rope construction, the focus is on rope structures for sports facilities, bridges, glass facades, roof structures, wide-span functional buildings, zoological and botanical facilities. The construction technology division produces technical components for lifting, moving, fastening and connecting precast concrete parts, while in the anchoring / lashing technology and lifting technology division, consumer goods and capital goods for lifting and moving loads are developed, manufactured and sold.
