Phantom was an American speed and power metal band from New York City , New York that was formed in 1985 and broke up around 1993.

history

The band was formed in 1985 by singer "Falcon" Eddie Green, guitarist Neil CJ Santell, bassist Chris Romanelli and drummer Michael Gandia. After the band had achieved a contract with New Renaissance Records through a demo , the debut album Dead or Alive followed in 1987 . Since the album was not very successful, the band lost their label deal again. After the band signed a new contract with Shark Records , bassist Charley Buckland and drummer John Bellon joined the line-up as new members. In 1991 the next, self-titled album was released. In 1993 the album Cyberchrist followed , whereupon bassist Chris Romanelli and drummer Michael Gandia could be heard as new members. The album was supposed to be the band's last before they broke up.

style

The band played classic, fast-paced Power Metal. Dead or Alive is described as rough, melodic heavy metal . The album is comparable to the works of Accept and Hammerfall . The album Cyberchrist is described as a mixture of Judas Priests Painkiller and the self-titled album by Metal Church , with the vocals being extremely high pitched and the guitars having an aggressive sound.
