Philemon McCarthy (born August 14, 1983 in Goma-Fetteh ) is a Ghanaian football player .

McCarthy played for the Gonden Boys as a teenager before moving to Feyenoord Academy in 2005 . In 2008 he moved to the top club Hearts of Oak SC and on September 20, 2011 he signed with the Globacom Premier League promoted Wassaman United . In February 2012 he left Wassaman United again and returned to Hearts of Oak SC.

The Ghanaians played his first international match in 2005. With the national team he took part in the 2008 African Cup of Nations. He was also nominated for the 2010 African Championship .
