Philip Fischer
Philip August Fischer (born April 1, 1817 in Rudkøbing ; † August 12, 1907 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish painter , master painter and varnish manufacturer .
Life
Philip Fischer, offspring of a Jewish merchant family , son of the grocer and later cattle breeder Philipp Fischer senior, after completing his apprenticeship as a painter , went against the family tradition for a career as a painter . He began an art education at the Copenhagen Art Academy , which he did not finish. Fischer, who exhibited at Charlottenborg Palace in 1843, 1851 and 1852 , subsequently established himself professionally as a varnish manufacturer.
Philip Fischer married Gustafva Albertina Svedgren, who was born in Sweden , on June 2, 1853 in Copenhagen . His two sons August and Paul also dreamed of an artistic career that had been denied to him, whereby Paul was able to realize his dream. Philip Fischer died on August 12, 1907 in Copenhagen and was buried on Frederiksberg Ældre Kirkegård.
