Philip Sherrard

Philip Sherrard (born September 23, 1922 in Oxford , England , † May 30, 1995 in London , England) was a British author, translator and philosopher.

Sherrard made modern Greek poetry in particular, but also the Byzantine Philocalia known through translations in Great Britain and the English-speaking world, and published many articles on the culture, theology and art of Byzantine and modern Greece. He has also commented on issues that, from his decidedly Christian perspective, represent current social and spiritual crises.
