Philipp Arons (born September 17, 1821 in Berlin , † November 19, 1902 in Rinteln ) was a German genre and portrait painter .

Life

Arons studied at the Royal Prussian Academy of Arts in Berlin from 1840–1844 , where he was a student of Eduard Daege . His regular participation in the Berlin Academy exhibitions is documented around 1844–1877. A first stay in Paris took place at the latest from 1844 to 1848. He was a student in the studios of Léon Cogniet and François-Gabriel Lépaulle . From 1848 to 1851 Arons stayed in Rome. In 1852 he was again in Paris. From 1852 he worked as a portraitist in Berlin, and from 1891 he was based in Rinteln ad Weser.
