Philipp Herold

Philipp Herold (* 1991 in Heidelberg ) is a German lyric poet, slam poet and presenter.

biography

In his second participation in the German-speaking slam championships , Herold won second place in the U20 competition in the Hamburg Schauspielhaus in 2011 . Since then he has been traveling all over the German-speaking region with his lyric texts and has won numerous poetry slams . Together with Tobias Gralke, he has been part of the Spoken Word Team Casino Wetzlar since 2014 . At the German-speaking slam championships in Stuttgart , they were runner-up in the team competition in 2016. In 2014 he was awarded the Martha-Saalfeld-Förderpreis . In 2018 he published his first independent work Alles zu seine Zeit by Lektora- Verlag, where he had already appeared as editor of the anthology Ink Fresh in 2012 . The book is designed like a music album and contains eleven of Herold's stage pieces, both solo and team texts.

Herold acts as a moderator of various cultural and literary events. Among other things, he led through the finals of the German-language U20 slam competitions in 2012 and 2017 (both in Heidelberg) and the final of the Baden-Württemberg State Championships in 2016 (in Heilbronn ). In 2012 he moderated the first Deaf Slam in Heidelberg , a poetry slam for the deaf in Germany. He can currently be seen regularly as the presenter of the Dead or Alive Slam at the Karlsruhe State Theater and the Poetry Slams in Heilbronn, Mannheim and Heidelberg.

Herold studied cultural studies at the University of Koblenz and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts .
