Philipp Jakob Sachs von Löwenheim (also Lewenhaimb or Lewenheimb ) (born August 26, 1627 in Breslau ; † January 7, 1672 ibid) was a Breslau city ​​physician .

Life

He studied in Holland, Strasbourg, Paris and Montpellier and received his doctorate in Padua in 1651. He then practiced as a doctor in Breslau. On December 30, 1658 he was accepted as a member ( registration number 17 ) with the surname Phosphorus I. in the learned society Leopoldina . In 1670 in Breslau he co-founded the oldest medical and scientific journal in the world: Miscellanea Curiosa Medico-physica Academiae Naturae Curiosorum sive Ephemeridum medico-physicarum germanicarum curiosarum . He became known for a popular hygienic book about grapes. On May 11, 1671 he was appointed city physician by the magistrate, who was already holding Johann Agricola (1590–1668) alongside him .
