Philipp Schönthaler

Philipp Schönthaler (born October 13, 1976 in Stuttgart ) is a German writer .

Life

Philipp Schönthaler studied English and Art Studies at Trinity Western University in Vancouver between 1999 and 2003, and in 2004 did his master's degree in "Modern European Literature" at the University of Sussex . In 2010 the doctorate at the University of Konstanz followed on the subject of "Negative Poetics: the figure of the narrator in Thomas Bernhard, WG Sebald and Imre Kertész". In the winter semester of 2008/2009 and 2010/2011 he taught at the University of Konstanz in the German language and literature department.

Schönthaler lives in Konstanz and works there as a freelancer. He took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize 2013 .
