Clemens Brentano Prize
The Clemens Brentano Prize was founded in 1993 by the city of Heidelberg and has been an award for literature that has been awarded annually since 1995 . The city named him in memory of Clemens Brentano , who lived in Heidelberg for a few years.
The literature prize is awarded in collaboration with the German Department of the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg to young authors who have already drawn attention to themselves through their first publications. With the award, which is endowed with 10,000 euros (if there are two winners, the prize amount will be shared), they should be given some financial relief so that they can turn to new projects. It is awarded alternately in the categories of poetry , short story , novel and essay . The jury consists of publishing editors, authors, literary critics and - as a special feature - from students of German Studies Seminar of the University.
