Alexander Gumz

Alexander Gumz (born December 19, 1974 in Berlin ) is a German poet , editor , translator and organizer.

Life

Gumz studied German and philosophy . He is the editor of the text sound label KOOK and organizer for the Berlin poetry festival . He is also co-founder of the LAN Three Days of Young Literature and Music Festival in Berlin and of HAM.LIT. Long night of young German-language literature and music in Hamburg .

Workshops and seminars for creative writing etc. a. at the Free University of Berlin, at the Wannsee Forum, for the lyrix competition of Deutschlandradio and at the Institute for Literary Writing and Literary Studies at the University of Hildesheim. Co-editor of several international anthologies, a. a. with young Danish and Polish literature.

Gumz's own poems have been published in various magazines and anthologies, including Jahrbuch der Lyrik (2008, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2018), Die Zeit, die Horen, Akzente, Neue Rundschau, EDIT, Waspennest, Das Magazin, Das Gedicht , marginal number, intendenzen, STILL.

Selected poems have been translated into English, Polish, Persian and Slovak. He himself has copied poems from Polish and English and published them in Germany.

His first collection of poems ausrück mit modellen was published by kookbooks in Germany in 2011 , and his second, longer volume barbarians expecting was also published there in 2018.
