Philippe Klein

Philippe Klein (* 1957 in France ) is a French engineer and manager. Klein is Nissan's Chief Planning Officer .

Education and academic career

Klein studied at ESPCI where he graduated in 1980. He continued his studies at the École nationale supérieure du pétrole et des moteurs , and graduated from there with a higher degree.

Career

Klein began his career in 1981 as a mechanical engineer at Renault . In 1992 he became "Executive Assistant" to the then Renault chairman Louis Schweitzer . In 1999 Renault entered into an alliance with the then badly ailing Japanese automaker Nissan. The two companies exchanged minority stakes and decided on a technical and commercial cooperation. These agreements also provided for the exchange of managerial staff. Klein moved to Tokyo , where he initially served as Vice-President of Renault and later as Vice-President of Nissan.

In 2003, Klein was named Vice President, Industrial System Performance Department at Renault. Klein was "Executive Vice President, Product Planning, Programs." From 2005 to 2008, Klein was a member of the Renault Board of Directors.

In 2008, Philippe Klein was appointed Deputy Director General Product Planning, Programs of the Renault Group. In September 2014, Klein's appointment as "Chief Planning Officer and member of the Executive Committee at Nissan" was announced. Klein took over the helm from Andy Palmer , who joined Aston Martin as CEO . Since then, Klein has lived and worked in Japan again.
