Philippe Le Houérou

Philippe Le Houérou (* 1957 in Montpellier ) is a French economist .

He is Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for “ Policy & Partnerships ”. He took up this position in January 2015 and is responsible for strategy development.

Le Houérou studied at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and at Columbia University . He then did a PhD in International Economics at Sciences Po. Since 1987 he has held various positions at the World Bank . In the 1990s he advised Russia and Madagascar . Most recently he was Regional Vice President for South Asia and before that for Europe and Central Asia.
