Philippe Mudry

Philippe Mudry (* 1939 ) is a Swiss classical philologist .

Life

Philippe Mudry obtained his License en Lettres from the University of Lausanne in 1964. From 1974 to 1976 he was a member of the Swiss Institute in Rome . He was a lecturer at the University of Geneva . After receiving his doctorate in Lausanne in 1982 with a thesis on the Latin medicine writer Celsus , he became a full professor of Latin languages ​​and literatures at the University of Lausanne in 1983 .

Mudry is a specialist in ancient medicine , especially for texts in Latin (besides Celsus, for example Caelius Aurelianus ).
