Philippe Perrenoud

Philippe Perrenoud (born March 9, 1955 in Biel ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ). From June 1, 2006 to June 30, 2016, he was government councilor of the Canton of Bern . He held the seat of the Bernese Jura guaranteed by the cantonal constitution and thus represented the French-speaking minority of the canton of Bern.

Life

Perrenoud attended schools in Biel, studied medicine at the University of Bern and did his doctorate at the University of Basel . He also has a diploma as FMH specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy . Perrenoud worked in various clinics, most recently as director of the psychiatric services in the Bernese Jura and Biel-Seeland.

Since 1997 he has been a member of the Social Democratic Party. From 1999 to 2006 he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern . From 2001 to 2006 he was also a member of the Inter-Jurassic Assembly . On April 9, 2006, Philippe Perrenoud was elected to the government council, and from June 1, 2006 to June 30, 2016, he was Director of Health and Welfare. He was a representative of the Bernese Jura, which is guaranteed at least one seat under Article 84 of the cantonal constitution.

Philippe Perrenoud has two children and lives in Tramelan .
