Philipp Rytz (born December 7, 1984 in Biel ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who has been under contract with EHC Olten in the Swiss League since 2019 . His brother Simon is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Philipp Rytz began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown at EHC Biel , for whose professional team he was active in the National League B from 2000 to 2003 . The following four years were spent at the defender Genève-Servette HC in the National League A . In his first year with Geneva, he also made eight appearances as a loan player for NLB participant HC Sierre . From 2007 to 2010 he played for SC Bern , with whom he won the Swiss championship title in the 2009/10 season . In Bern, too, he was temporarily loaned out in the first year and came to four missions for the NLB participant Young Sprinters Hockey Club .

For the 2010/11 season Rytz was committed by Friborg-Gottéron , but left this after a year and joined the NLA league rivals SCL Tigers . With this he was relegated to the second division (NLB) in 2013 before he received a two-year contract with Lausanne HC in April . In the 2016/17 season, Rytz moved to the NLB team SC Langenthal. In 2017 he achieved the NLB championship with the team. For the 2019/20 season he signed a two-year contract with league competitor EHC Olten , where he was named team captain.

International

For Switzerland , Rytz took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2002 . During the tournament he prepared a goal in eight games.
