Philippe Victor Alexandre de Marne (born February 8, 1873 in Paris ; † May 3, 1955 ) was a French racing car driver .

Career

Philippe de Marne was one of the racing drivers who competed in the first Le Mans 24-hour race in 1923 . De Marne drove a works -Bignan 11HP Commercial with his partner Jean Martin in fifth place overall. At the finish, the two French riders were 16 laps behind the winning pairing André Lagache and René Léonard on a Chenard & Walcker Sport .

Also in 1924, de Marne, who the year before finished fourth in the Bol d'Or, a race for cycle cars on a circuit in St. Germain, competed in Le Mans. With a 6-cylinder Bignan and again with Jean Martin as a partner, it failed prematurely with a defective cooler.
