Phill Nixon (born March 13, 1956 in Durham , † August 9, 2013 ) was an English darts player .
At the BDO World Championship he caused a stir in 2007 when he reached the final as a qualifier. In the final he was initially 6-0 down against the eventual world champion and world number one Martin Adams . After a break he was able to level the game temporarily to 6: 6 before he lost the last and decisive set and finished second in the World Cup.
Nixon was an otherwise rather inconspicuous player who always took part in major tournaments as a qualifier. In July 2013, Nixon was diagnosed with cancer. He succumbed to his illness a month later, leaving behind a wife and eight children.
