Phylonomas
Phylonome ( ancient Greek Φυλόνομη ), daughter of Nyktimos and the nymph Arkadia , is a figure in Greek mythology .
She gave birth to the twins Lykastus and Parrhasios to the god of war Ares . Fearing their father, Phylonome abandoned her in the mountains of Erymanthos (or, according to another reading, threw her into the river of the same name ).
The children were suckled by a wolf and later raised by a shepherd, who gave them the names Lykastos - Greek λύκος Lykos , wolf - and Parrhasios. (The legend shows a striking parallel here to the story of Rhea Silvia and her sons Romulus and Remus .) When the twins had grown up, they took control of Arcadia .
