At 380 m, the Piñero Peak is the highest point on the Piñero Island in the archipelago of the Adelaide and Biscoe Islands off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1980 after the island of the same name. It is named after the Argentine MP Antonio F. Piñero (1855–1921), who was able to move the Argentine government under President Roque Sáenz Peña to unreservedly support the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908–1910) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot .
