Pibel Lake is a lake in Wheeler County , in the US state of Nebraska , in the United States . It is located in a small valley within the Pibel Lake State Recreation Area , and is maintained by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission . The area of the lake is 9.71 hectares.
In the course of a general rehabilitation of the lake, the fish population, which was affected by water pollution, was increased by releasing perch and catfish . A dock for small boats was also created. The Pibel lake is lined with a row of tall poplars and is home to an abundance of animal and plant species. Camping facilities are also available.
The Pibel Lake is located about 1.6 kilometers east of US Highway 281 and 14.5 kilometers south of Bartlett .
