Pibor is a small town in South Sudan . It has been the capital of the newly founded state of Borna since 2015 and is the capital of the Pibor County of the same name . Until 2015, Pibor was part of the state of Jonglei . The place is also called Pibor Post or Fort Bruce . It has an airport (Pibor Airport).

The city became famous as the site of bloody conflict between the Lou Nuer and Murle militias in December 2011 and January 2012.

The Boma National Park is located about 65 kilometers east of Pibor .
