PicMaster is graphics software that is distributed according to the shareware principle. The software combines several fields of application for the graphics area. In addition to basic image processing functions (paint with a brush, remove red eyes, insert text, etc.), PicMaster also offers advanced functions such as the display of stereoscopic images , morphing and a webcam integration.

To create a 3D image, a digital camera can be used to shoot two slightly offset photos, which can be prepared with the help of the software and color glasses to create a 3D impression.

Morphing is the process of transforming photos of people into other people. For this purpose, the people are photographed and their contours are cut out with the help of the software. Then common support points can be defined on the prominent places (eyes, nose, mouth, etc.). The software calculates the intermediate images and creates a video of the transformation.

PicMaster offers the possibility of independently capturing images from a camera (e.g. webcam) in order to then transfer them over the Internet (via FTP , or the software itself offers the images as a web server ). For example, the system can be used for monitoring or as an alarm system.

The software already has 300 graphic filter effects that are described in the form of formulas . The integrated formula editor and parser make it possible to quickly create your own image effects. For more filters also let Photoshop - plug-ins integrated into PicMaster.

The mosaic function can be used to create an image from individual images. The most suitable image is selected from the individual images, so that viewed from a distance the many individual images result in a new overall image. With the poster printing function, the large overall picture can be printed out over several pages.

The program offers several auxiliary functions for scanning images. For example, several photos can be placed on a scanner and automatically with the push of a button

  • separate into individual images
  • straighten it
  • remove the background border
  • save without dialog (scan and save)
  • photocopying (scanning and printing)

In addition, the individual work steps can be recorded as a macro and played back again. To do this, the actions can be saved in a text file and applied to several images at a later point in time in batch processing .

Other functions are:

  • Creation of slide shows with transition effects and audio comments (as an executable CD, screen saver, website, background changer)
  • Image viewer
  • Create photo albums
  • Taking screenshots
  • Video filter
