The Piepenbach is a 2.4 km long orographically right tributary of the Horne .

course

The Piepenbach rises on the western edge of the city of Werne in North Rhine-Westphalia. Flowing in a south-easterly direction, after about half a kilometer it reaches the Werne municipal forest , which it crosses for about 700 m. At the end of the forest, an unspecified stream flows to it from the right. Then it runs further east past the Lindert sports field and reaches after 2.7 km at an altitude of 59  m above sea level. NN the horns.

The Piepenbach rises in a species-rich and tiered field wood . Up to its mouth it runs in natural vegetation under its natural slope.

Others

The plan for a flood retention basin on the Lindert has been implemented since spring 2015 . The 1.7 million euro construction project is intended to prevent future flooding of the Piepenbach. It should be 1.20 m deep and hold up to 9,000 m³.
