Pieperberg

Pieperberg is the name of a 470  m above sea level. NHN high mountain south of Schwengskopf in the Hasserode district of Wernigerode in the Harz Mountains . The mountain was probably named after a Pieper family.

In 1407 he was first mentioned in a document as de Pieperbergk . In 1730 an old mine is mentioned here.

At the foot of the mountain is the Piepergrund, which branches off at the level crossing of the Harzquerbahn over the Bielsteinchaussee and leads north up the Pieperberg. A marked hiking trail leads through Piepergrund. a. leads to Kuhborn or Mönchsbuche .
