Pier Giacomo Pisoni

Pier Giacomo Pisoni (born July 8, 1928 in Germignaga (near Luino ), Italy , † February 8, 1991 in Germignaga, Italy) was an Italian writer, historian, paleographer and archivist. He mainly devoted his research to the local medieval history of Lake Maggiore . He rediscovered and published the till then held for lost, of Petarcas written Friend Guglielmo Maramauro Kommertar the XIV. Century to Dante's "Divine Comedy" ( "Expositione sopra l'Inferno di Dante Alligieri"). He copied and he published numerous epigraphs, documents, manuscripts, municipal statutes, letters and old accounting registers (such as the "Liber tabuli Vitaliani Bonromei"). He collected old local folk songs and published several articles and books on the history of Lombardy , as well as monographs on the local works of art and historical families.
