Piero Costa (born June 4, 1913 in Tunis , † April 24, 1975 in Rome ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Costa, Mario Costa's brother , began his career as a documentary filmmaker ; from 1939 he made short films, e.g. B. Castel Gandolfo on the Pope's summer residence . His first film, Aeroporto , shot in 1943 , was one of the few films made for the Italian Social Republic ; this engagement was of little help in the following years. In 1945 he worked on a screenplay for Francesco De Robertis ; it was not until the beginning of the 1950s that he was able to bring further works to the cinemas; mostly little remarkable. La ragazza di Piazza San Pietro from 1958 had numerous well-known actors to show, in 1960 one was made in the knight film . After a few scenes that he was allowed to shoot for Un alibi per morire in 1961 , most of which Roberto Bianchi Montero directed, he left the profession. Nothing is known about his later whereabouts.
