Roberto Bianchi Montero

Roberto Bianchi Montero (born December 7, 1907 in Rome , † 1986 ) was an Italian film director , screenwriter and actor .

Life

Bianchi Montero began to be interested in the theater as a teenager and was a member of an amateur drama group that performed plays at numerous village festivals. In 1930 he became a member of the troupe around Ettore Petrolini , in which he was cast as a young lover. After 4 years of working together, he founded his own acting community and had his first film role in 1936. From 1939 he interpreted a number of roles in now forgotten Italian films for three years, where he also took on the position of assistant director for some.

After the Second World War he found his place behind the camera and from then on directed numerous genre films of mostly average quality and low production costs, in which he was often involved in the script. Melodramas , action material such as spaghetti westerns and erotic comedies are particularly common among his 62 films .

Bianchi Montero is the father of director Mario Bianchi and was sometimes referred to as Roberto Montero . A pseudonym was Robert B. White .
