Piero Frassi

Piero Frassi (* 1971 in Lucca ) is an Italian jazz musician ( piano , composition ).

Life and effect

Frassi received piano lessons from the age of eight. In 1992 he obtained his concert diploma at the Istituto musicale L. Boccherini in his hometown; In 2000 he completed the jazz course at the Istituto Musicale P. Mascagni in Livorno. During this time he was part of Tullio De Piscopo's band and the Blue Bird Conversation quintet . In the following years he accompanied the singer Michela Lombardi, with whom he recorded the albums Small Day Tomorrow (2004), So April Hearted (MAP 2008) and Swingaholic (Philology 2008) and the Phil Woods Songbook (Philology 2010-11).

With his trio he released the albums Everything We Love and (together with Lee Konitz ) Serenity with Philology . He has also worked with Tony Esposito , Guido Zorn, Nico Gori , Roberto Martinelli, Stefano Nunzi, Paolo Benedettini, Vittorio Alinari, Pietro Tonolo , Deborah Davis, Michael Baker and Roberta Gambarini . He also performed with the singer Karima Ammar, with whom he presented the album Karima Sings Bacharach (2014), at Umbria Jazz 2009.
