Pierre Abbink Spaink (born April 24, 1931 in IJsselstein ; † September 26, 2001 in Hilversum ) was a Dutch composer and music teacher .

Life

Pierre Abbink Spaink received his first music lessons from Herman C. de Leeuw. After his school education he studied theoretical subjects at the Utrecht Conservatory with Karel Mengelberg , Kees van Baaren , Hein Kien, Theo Willemze and W. Kloppenburg and piano with Anton Dresden. After graduating, he worked as a piano teacher at the music school in Eindhoven, among others, and he taught music theory in the preparatory class at the Utrecht Conservatory until he went to radio in 1962. In 1970 he was appointed to teach theoretical subjects at the Twents Conservatorium in Enschede and in 1972 he went to the Music Education Academy in Hilversum in the same position.
