Pierre Antoine Favre
Pierre Antoine Favre (born February 20, 1813 in Lyon , † February 17, 1880 in Marseille ) was a French chemist .
He received his doctorate in 1835. med. and was from 1843 professor at the medical faculty. With Johann Theobald Silbermann (1806–1865) he worked in the field of thermochemistry. In 1851 he became head of the analytical chemistry laboratory at the Écoles Centrales in Paris . From 1854 he was professor of chemistry at the Faculty of Science in Marseille . In 1856 he became professor and in 1872 dean at the medical faculty. Since 1863 he was a corresponding member of the Paris Academy of Sciences .
